IMPRINT PROGRAM 2024

  • February 15, 2024
  • 2:00 PM
  • April 25, 2024
  • 10:00 AM
  • North Salem High School

OWLS Mary Leonard Chapter and North Salem High School AVID program are proud to announce that we are once again sponsoring the Imprint Program.

Attorney mentors are matched with a North Salem High School student.  The pairs read an assigned book and exchange a series of two emails discussing the book during the months of February through April.

Everyone comes back together at the end of the program in late April to celebrate at an in-person gathering.

WHAT BOOK ARE WE READING?

The Impact of Identity, by Irina Nevzlin.  Easily found on Amazon at:  https://a.co/d/j4RJPXv It is a relatively short book; a mere 122 pages total.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1) Attorneys buy a copy of the book for themselves and their student.
2) There is an in-person meeting on Thursday Feb 15, at 2:00 p.m. at North Salem High School.  Attorneys meet their student and deliver their
book to the student at that time.
3) Exchange of letters – There are only two exchanges this year, and the students are required to write the first email. Email exchanges occur between February 29th and April 18th.
4)  In-person end of program celebration on
April 25th, 10:00 a.m. to noon at Willamette University, Bearcat Cafe (Cat Cavern) on the second floor of the Putnam University Center on the main Willamette campus.

That’s it.  Buy two books, attend two meetings, send two emails.  If you have concerns about attending either of the meetings, please don’t let that get in the way of otherwise participating, we can work it out.

Excited??  Ok, interested in participating for the good of the order?

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THIS AMAZING PROGRAM?

Please sign up through the link on the Mary Leonard OWLS website http://www.owlsmaryleonardchapter.org/imprint-program-2024.html.

For mentor/student matching purposes, please leave a ‘fun fact’ in the additional comments section of the sign-up.  It really does help with mentor/student matching.

If you don’t have the time or energy to participate (No judgment!), please consider passing this along to someone who might be so inclined.

If you have any questions, please email me at this address:  Imprintrob2024@gmail.com.
